Raising funds for Ablegamers!

 And now for something completely different!

As I got into streaming, I made a lot of friends and became part of a small community of streamers, the DAT Community. Jen, one of the streamers, had an idea recently of having a Raid Train Charity stream for a good cause. 

For those not familiar with Twitch, 'raiding' is when a streamer finishes their stream and sends the viewers to another streamer. It's a great way to meet new people and share viewership but in this context, it also allows us to setup a 51 hour charity stream! 

So, starting at 1am EST on Saturday, February 27th, Dat Community will be kicking off our first ever DatCom community charity event. For the next 51 hours we will have a raid train going from community member to community member from the start time on Saturday, all the way until 4am EST on Monday. 

My time slot will be 1pm EST (10am PST) on Saturday! I'll be playing a game and dressing as Super Lyft Girl!

I'm a greek hero today!

I've recently taken a liking to a new game by Ubisoft called Immortals Fenyx Rising. It's been criticized as a "Breath of the Wild knockoff" and well, it's similar in a lot of ways. 

But everything I liked about Breath of the Wild, I love about Fenyx....plus I love greek mythology so that adds even more to the experience.

Workout Wednesdays!

 I thought I'd start a new posting regime on Wednesdays about some working out. 

Through the pandemic, it's been struggle to keep working out and yet if I want to stay active, I have to keep moving. I have a back condition and now recently a knee condition that require constant strength training and stretching so I have to at minimum keep up on those. 

Outside of ballet and cheer, I've been back to the gym (with mask on) around 2-3 times a week and I'd like to get that to a harder 3-4 times to get some of my strength back. 

I also recently watched a video on YouTube where a lady talked about how if you want visible abs, you need to do certain exercises that actually work those muscles. With all the work on my back and core over the last couple years, I've kind of let regular ab work (crunches, etc) fall by the wayside. 

So today I'm starting on adding them back into my regime. Hope you all have a fantastic Hump Day! 

Useless Costumes (Ironic parody)

Some of you might have noticed I haven't been as active in making or posting pictures of cosplays. It's been really difficult to get motivated to make things I can't go out and wear at comic-con. 

Instead I'm finding somewhat of a new hobby in making and music video parodies. I love writing lyrics that fit perfectly and videography and editing has been a fun way to show off costumes and dancing too. 

It's also been a great way to vent my frustrations.

February Morning Update

Well it's time for the Morning update again as we head into February of 2021. 

What's new with me? 

Well, if I'm honest I recently realized that I've been struggling emotionally in the pandemic and hiding behind video games and other in-home activities. I severely miss comic-con and seeing all my friends. This week has felt a bit depressing as I came to this realization. 

I'm now in the process of trying to understand what experiences about Comic-con and other outings such as Karaoke give me such joy so that I may somehow duplicate them in doing other things within the confines of our current predicament of society.
